The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federal initiative that helps individuals and families without private dental insurance access routine dental services.
Coverage may include exams, cleanings, fillings, and certain restorative or preventive treatments.
Patients can stay updated through the official Government of Canada website.
You may qualify for CDCP coverage if you:
Do not have private dental insurance
Are 65 years or older or under 18
Have a valid Disability Tax Credit (2023 and later)
Have a family income under $90,000 per year

To qualify, you must meet all four requirements:
You do not have access to private dental insurance or coverage
You and your spouse/common-law partner, if applicable, have filed your Canadian tax returns
Your adjusted family net income is less than $90,000
People who receive dental coverage through certain provincial, territorial, or federal social programs may still qualify if they meet the CDCP eligibility requirements.

Applications are currently open for the 2026–2027 Canadian Dental Care Plan benefit year. Eligible Canadian residents of all ages can apply.
